2018 Remy Pinot Noir

It’s quite instructive to go back to the Gower 2018 notes for this wine and see how well we did with our predictions. 2018 was, we are told, a year of ‘masculine’ characters… and here we are, a single barrel and two years on with a wine that is tawnied and (as our current notes say) ‘masculine’. We were right! The oak in this wine has done exactly what it was intended to do, provided framework: in 2018 we called it ‘broad shoulders and a slim waist’. Winter is coming… and this wine sings it. With the colour change and falling leaves and richer food, this is one for the moment.100% Lenswood Pinot Noir, wild yeasts, 15 months in 100% new French oak, 2 years in bottle before release, only one barrel produced
